Chrome and Firefox Reaching Ver. 100 Could Be a Problem Both Chrome and Firefox are a few updates away from version 100, and there are concerns the third digit could break some websites. Specifically, in this case, some websites are set up to look for browser version numbers, but may not be able to account for anything above version 99. Y2K, anyone? 2. YouTube Announces New Moves to Combat Misinformation YouTube has announced plans to tackle misinformation. Taking a three-tiered approach, it will use machine-learning to catch offending content, limit cross-platform sharing of misinformation, and address misinformation in languages beyond English. Can it pull it off? Hope so; it's too big to not take seriously. 3. Samsung Hints at New Galaxy Book Ahead of Livestream Event Samsung is teasing a brand new Galaxy Book laptop ahead of the Mobile World Congress event on Feb. 27. Details are scarce, but Samsung says it's working with Intel and Microsoft on the laptop, focusing on device consistency, performance, and security. Won't be long until we find out how true that is. 🦑 Go Deeper Tracking cookies are terrible for those of us who are frequently online, but a new settlement involving Meta could make regulators realize how bad cookies truly are.
