It stands for electric-powered vertical takeoff and landing, and would combine the agility of a helicopter and the speed of a commuter jet in a new kind of flying machine, offering the rich "a new way of avoiding the multiple miseries of ground travel in America."   I'm very excited about this very cool feature from Alex Sakalis on Ladinia, a mysterious but stunning region of Italy with an incredible history and a perplexing language.
