November 9, 2021
It's November 9, 2021. On this day in 2004, Mozilla released the Firefox 1.0 web browser. It included a built-in pop-up blocker, a number of add-ons, and more that we'd now consider standard in a browser. That was 17 years ago! ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 415 articles, 5 podcasts, 10 press releases, 370 tweets, and 16 YouTube videos 1. Pixel 6 Slow Fingerprint Scanner Is Due to 'Advanced Security' Google has responded to complaints about the Pixel 6's fingerprint scanner, stating 'advanced security algorithms' are the main cause. We'd get into specifics, but Google doesn't go into much detail beyond saying these security protections "can take longer to verify." True? False? You decide. 2. OneDrive Support to End for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 OneDrive fans who still use Windows 7 and 8 may have to upgrade soon, as Microsoft will end support for those versions of the OneDrive app after March 2022. After that date, you'll have to upload them to OneDrive using the web app. Sounds like a hassle to us, so maybe just upgrade to Windows 10 or 11? 3. WhatsApp Multi-Device Support Gets Public Beta Availability WhatsApp's multi-device support is now in public beta. It allows for up to four companion devices at one time, and is available to use with the latest version of the app on Android devices and iPhone. One catch? You can still only have one phone connected to your WhatsApp account at a time. Makes sense. 🦑 Go Deeper Apple may be focusing its production efforts on the iPhone 13 over the iPad, but Rob Rich doesn't feel too bad for the tablet. If anything, we should look forward to its resurgence, potentially becoming more popular than ever. 🎱 By the Numbers Way more balanced than expected Data: Backlinko People of all ages use WhatsApp to talk to friends and family, but none more so than the 26-35 year old range, at least in the US. We're actually more interested in the 15-25 crowd, but only because of the plethora of apps at their disposal. Why WhatsApp and not, say, Discord? Who knows. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal

Meet the Mini Pupper, which is all that and more. (Share on Twitter) 💎 You Know You Want It Fly, my friend Image: Skydio Ready to go all-in on drone tech? Pretty dang cool. 🙈 Wait, What? More Zooms?! Afraid to pin a video or screen during a Zoom meeting? It's fine; there's no need to worry about the pinned participant or meeting host knowing about it. How do we know? Because Zoom said so; the only thing pinning a video impacts is your own view, so pin away! 🗞 Extra! Extra! We've got you covered with the best in daily tech news!
