Super Sentai, a Japanese superhero series, inspired what we know today as the Power Rangers. Marvel Comics and Toei Company (Super Sentai's distributor) agreed on a concept exchange: Toei adapted the Japanese Spider-Man TV series, and Marvel later released Power Rangers in the U.S. August 28 marks Power Rangers Day, so we're taking a look at some brand partnerships.


When brands join forces, they have the opportunity to deliver new messages to larger audiences. Cross-promoting entices people to check out products that complement each other. The best collabs come from an authentic — not sales — point of view (see Ouai x Maxbone celebrating new pet shampoo with a limited-edition pet toy). Be sure to introduce and educate customers when promoting another brand or a partner brand to prevent confusion.
