Hello! I hope your week is going well! I've just returned from Asia, an exhausting journey that played out like so: 3 hours to Bangkok, 12 hour layover, 7 hours to Doha, 3 hour layover, 14 hour flight to DC. I can't even imagine what I looked like to the CBP agent when I did my Global Entry on arrival! Kicking things off is self-described "average Joe from Boston" Todd Plummer who recently attended a rave in Rome's legendary Cinecittá Studios. It was the latest party thrown by the roving music festival company Cercle. They've thrown parties in Petra, Montreal's Biodome, and Iguazu Falls—and Todd takes us along for the ride. Don't miss our latest feature for our wildly popular It's Still a Big World series on underrated destinations. I'm going out on a limb and contending that Kansas City, yes, the midwest former cowtown, should be one of the country's more popular destinations. And finally, my colleague Kevinisha Walker has a really lovely story about her visit to British Columbia for an outdoorsy trip for people who aren't looking for something too intense. Enjoy! — William O'Connor, Travel Editor |

Not only is Calpak's Mini Hue approved as a carry-on for international flights, but it's one of the only hard-shell suitcases on the market that actually fit under *most* airline seats. |
Aside from being compact and remarkably cute, Calpak's Mini Hue Carry-on is engineered with all of the same premium specs you expect from the trusted luggage brand, including a TSA-accepted lock, zippered dividers and pockets, upright and compression straps, and spinner wheels. It's also super light, weighing in at just slightly over six pounds, so it's great for tight connections when you're literally sprinting to the next gate to make your flight. Honestly, even if you're an over-packer the mini-sized Hue Carry-on really does have a place in any luggage collection. |

Bigger isn't always better—sometimes instead of a hulking tome, it's a smaller text tucked in a stack or perched on an end-table that transports you away. Enter this latest highlight from our series on gorgeous coffee table books (Just Booked): the petite but charming A Table in Paris: The Cafés, Bistros, and Brasseries of the World's Most Romantic City by John Donohue. Over the course of two visits in 2019, Donohue (a former New Yorker editor whose sketches can be found here) sketched the restaurants of Paris—famous mainstays like Le Grand Véfour, impossible-to-get-a-seat spots like Abri, and relative unknowns like Quinson. Peppered throughout are anecdotes from travelers, chefs, and cultural luminaries about their favorite spots. Don't miss our other selections for our series on gorgeous travel-related coffee table books, Just Booked. |
