Kenya's disputed presidential election |
- Monday, former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga rejected Deputy President William Ruto's victory in Kenya's presidential elections. [BBC / Dickens Olewe]
- According to Kenya's election commission, Ruto won 50.49 percent of the vote while Odinga finished second with 48.85 percent. However, four commissioners joined Odinga in not supporting the results. [CNN / Bethlehem Feleke and Larry Madowo]
- Odinga also challenged 2017's presidential vote, which the supreme court ultimately declared invalid. Odinga then lost to incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta in a rerun marred by violence. [Washington Post / Rael Ombuor]
