Hello all–
I've been home just long enough that the travel itch has hit, so I'm headed on a bit of a whirlwind tour over the next month–Puebla, Qatar, Egypt, Fort Lauderdale, and Montreal. I'm excited for all of them, but especially Qatar and Egypt as my journeys to that part of the world have been painfully few.
The only thing I'm sad about with these trips is I won't be getting behind the wheel for any of them–but this week's lead feature has been added to my list of must-do road trips. In it, Nick Hilden journeys from El Paso to Mexico City and back. Along the way he finds delicious food joints and charming towns he's now in love with.
Further afield this week is Todd Plummer's feature about his recent expedition to Antarctica aboard Hurtigruten's MS Roald Amundsen. Plummer's journey was everything those of us fiending to go to the final continent imagine it to be–in fact, I'd say it's more chic than many of us fathom it being.

"The last images of the sinking ship were taken by Shackleton and his 28-strong crew as they escaped, skipping over the ice field as it consumed the Endurance and sent it some 10,000 feet down to the frozen seabed. And that's where the Endurance was found over the weekend—with cooking utensils and even clothing still well-preserved." – Barbie Nadeau reports on the incredible news of the discovery of the Endurance.
OMG I Want This House! Our real estate motto is, if you can't afford to buy your first home, don't sweat it; just move on to your second. That's why we're pining over this gorgeous warehouse in Barcelona from the comfort of our tiny, rented apartment. This former factory for sale by Sotheby's International Realty is now a spacious, 3,000-square-foot single family home near GaudÃ's famous—and famously incomplete—Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
Cement floors are all the range in modern design these days. But if you buy this home, you can call yours "vintage." Speaking of homeownership, it's going to cost you just shy of $1.6 million for the deed to this house. It's a lot of money, but keep in mind that your neighbor—the one and only Sagrada Familia—is set to be completed in 2026 after almost 150 years of construction. So this new acquisition is really an investment for the day that momentous milestone is (finally) hit.

You've (Probably) Never Seen Paris Like This To say we're nostalgic for Paris would be a gross understatement—we're positively aching for it! Luckily, our latest highlight from Just Booked (our series on gorgeous new travel coffee table books) is the fascinating Paris: From the Air by photographer Jeffrey Milstein and published by Rizzoli.
There is something utterly captivating about seeing central Paris' geometric grid from above—the triangles, trapezoids, and parallelograms of city blocks. But the book also takes us from the ornate dome of Invalides (which we'd never seen up close) to the public parks and gardens that even though they were laid out centuries ago seem as if they were designed for viewers in the sky.
The book also rescues some of the city's less beloved spots, making even the Gare Montparnasse look cool. And while the Pompidou doesn't look like much from directly above, just by moving slightly to the side it positively pops against the rooflines of its more traditional surroundings.
