It's March 3, 2022—National I Want You to be Happy Day. We could all do with more happiness in our day-to-day, so why not try to put a smile on someone's face today? Positive vibes only. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 388 articles, 11 podcasts, 7 press releases, 310 tweets, and 18 YouTube videos 1. Fitbit's Ionic Smartwatches Recalled Due to Burn Risk Fitbit has issued a recall on its Ionic smartwatch, citing a potential burn hazard. The chances of being hurt are ~0.01%, but people are still encouraged to return them. Once Fitbit has received your watch, you'll receive a $299 refund and a discount code for select Fitbit products. Now that's an incentive. 2. Valve Releases New Patch to Address Steam Deck Drift Valve has issued a patch to take care of the control stick drift problem affecting some Steam Deck owners. You can grab the update now, regardless of whether or not you've experienced any drifting; think of it as a preventative measure. Now, if only it were this easy to address the Switch's drift problems. 3. Sennheiser Reveals Rugged New High-End Earbuds Sennheiser has introduced its new IE 600 earbuds made using a special metal that aims to ensure its longevity. This metal (ZR01 amorphous zirconium), the brand name, and the fact that it's for "sophisticated audiophiles," are likely why the pair will set you back $700 when they release later this year. Sheesh. 🦑 Go Deeper Wish Siri and Alexa could have better conversations with you? Well, let Mayank Sharma tell you all about Meta's Project CAIRaoke, which hopes to help such digital assistants have much better contextual conversations. 🎱 By the Numbers Fitbit's doing alright Data: Business of Apps Fitbit's total device sales took a bit of a dive after 2017, but it's still over 10 million units sold as of 2020, so it's not like the company has to throw in the towel. Good on them with the Ionic recall, though; when people want to "feel the burn" they probably don't want it coming from their fitness watch. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
