CHANGELETTTER "social impact for busy people" with an iceberg graphic on the left and a boat with a lifevest on the right
Welcome back to Changeletter by Soapbox Project. I'm the author, Nivi Achanta, and I make it easy for you to fight climate change in 3 minutes every week.

What's up this week

Catch up on our sustainable finance actions here.

We've got almost 100 members in our Soapbox community. It was born in March. Two months later in May, I shattered my ankle.

I did NOT think the community would keep growing as I languished on my couch, but to my surprise, our Founding Members stepped up. We've raised thousands of dollars, curated weekly events, had meetups in 4 cities (Seattle, NY, SF, and Bristol), and had some amazing member-hosted workshops and brainstorms.

I want you to be a part of changing the world with us. Change starts small, it's local, and it's FUN. Change happens with new friends and with activist groups that are already in your city. Change can start with a pizza party. (That was one of our first hangs in Seattle.)

Today, I want to invite you to join the Soapbox membership community.

If you want to support our newsletter, make new friends in your area, and find high-impact opportunities, this is the home for you. No experience required.

After this week, membership prices will increase.

  • ๐ŸŽฏ Local action opportunities and gatherings (we're doing a Paint & Social Impact social in Seattle next week where we're painting a house for formerly incarcerated people)

  • ⭐ Leadership opportunities to meet experts in sustainability, racial justice, and more. One of our members, Ash, stepped up to moderate events with the founders of Carbon Collective, Mighty Deposits, SustainFi, Dispatch Goods, and more!

  • ๐Ÿ“น Exclusive video library of event recordings

Most of all, the more members we have, the more we can prove that we ARE making a difference. Our actions DO matter, but we have to measure them, together.

This is your last week to join our community for $5/mo before prices increase, so I hope to see you there soon!

(Also, as a low-key cry for help, if you've enjoyed these free emails so far, I really could use the financial support.)

If you have any questions, let's chat on a call, or you can just reply to this email. I got you!

Upcoming

  • This October, we'll tackle consumerism. We'll look at what corporations are doing -- good and bad -- how we can push for change, reduce waste in our households, and envision a better world where everyone has what they need.
